S.M.A.R.T Goal Setting

Everyone should have their own goals. The goals are either short term goals or long term goals. Goals can help us to live a life with full of meanings or life is much guided. So the question is, HOW TO SET GOALS? There is a method called S.M.A.R.T which is quite useful and helpful for us to set a goal for ourselves.

S.M.A.R.T represents specific, measurable, attainable, relevant and time-bound.

S- SPECIFIC
We need to have a specific goal rather than a general one so that we know what we are going to do instead of moving out of the objective. The goal should be clear and unambiguous.
M-MEASURABLE
The goals that we set must be measurable. This can help us to keep in track of what we are doing so that we are on the right path towards success.
A-ATTAINABLE
We should go towards goals that are attainable instead of those impossible or unachievable goals. We have to be realistic and logical.
R-RELEVANT
This criteria stresses the important of choosing the goals that matter. We should create a goal with importance and meaning. Make sure the effort is worth it to you.
T-TIME BOUND

Setting a time limit or dateline to our goal is important. This is because we can use the dateline as a motivation in achieving the goals. It creates a sense of urgency for us to complete the goal as soon as possible.
